• Multi
- Cultural Tales K-12
These wonderful and enchanting tales from around the
world include participatory tales for the younger students
and longer tales for older students. This program is
both educational and highly enjoyable.
• Black
History Program K-12
Karen portrays several different Black historical characters,
male and female. She tells their powerful stories of
trials and triumphs from slavery to freedom. She shares
their great contributions to this country and the world.
These stories are both humorous and moving.
• Out of The Box And Off The Rack: Who Do You Believe? 6-12 Karen pulls props
from her box and clothing from the rack and becomes different characters from
different walks of life who tell the audience the same story from their own point of view.
Afterwards the students are asked to tell which character they believe and why. This program sparks
great discussions.
• Edutainment 4-12 Karen has created an exciting new educational program that teaches History, Literature, Social Studies and Art and leaves the students asking for more. Even students who have shown no interest in these subjects are really enjoying the program. Using drama and music and oh yes, facts, lessons are brought to life. Students get to walk first hand through the lessons as various characters from History, Literature, Social Studies or Art. Karen was asked to develop a History program for Trumansburg Schools in Upstate New York and it was such a success with the students and the teachers that she decided to expand the program into other subject areas and to make the program available to all schools. Not only are the lessons memorable, they are fun! This program can be tailored to meet any specific needs.
• Storytelling/Acting
Workshop 4-12 In this three to six week
long program, Karen will teach groups of students the
basics in storytelling and acting as well as what goes
into putting on a staged production. At the end of the
program each group of students will write, produce and
perform their story. The longer the program the more
in depth the study and understanding of the various
disciplines that go into storytelling and acting.
• Healing
Stories 5-12 These beautiful and exciting
tales generate self esteem, hope, kindness, humility
and humanity. This program is great for opening up lines
of communication between students and teachers, children
and parents. These stories deal with issues that concern
our youth.
